Canadian Catholic Indigenous Council

The mission of the Canadian Catholic Indigenous Council (CCIC) is to examine and address current issues regarding Indigenous Peoples within the Catholic Church in Canada.

The CCIC seeks to promote Indigenous Peoples’ culture and traditional celebrations within the context of the Catholic faith.
The Council studies and analyzes issues related to Catholic Indigenous spirituality and education.

It encourages Indigenous leadership in the Christian community, and supports and promotes reconciliation in the context of the Catholic reality.

The CCIC serves as an important link between Indigenous Catholics and non-Aboriginal Catholics.

It establishes partnerships that advance and advocate for meaningful relationships between Indigenous Peoples and the Catholic Church at large. The CCIC also advises the Bishops of Canada on issues related to Indigenous Peoples.
