The following document is an agreed statement issued in October 2003 by the North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation. Although the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is represented on the Theological Consultation, the text has not been endorsed by the CCCB nor does it necessarily have the approval of the Bishops of Canada. The statement is being disseminated in full according to its official version on the CCCB website in order to assist Catholic pastors, theologians and other members of the faithful in studying it and in preparing reflections or comments, which can be forwarded to the CCCB Episcopal Commission for Christian Unity.
