The Episcopal Commission for Doctrine:
- Helps to identify the theological and pastoral needs of the Church;
- Undertakes studies;
- Prepares CCCB statements on related themes;
- Serves as the CCCB contact with Canadian theologians and theological bodies.

Dr. Glenn Byer is Director of the Publications Service of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. He holds a doctoral degree in liturgy from the Pontifical Institute of San’ Anselmo, Rome.
