Internet and Privacy Policy


The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) website was created to help meet the following objectives:

  • to promote CCCB activities, public stances and documents;
  • to provide information on the members and various bodies of the CCCB;
  • to provide access to the websites of Canadian dioceses, other Episcopal Conferences, the Holy See and organizations associated with the CCCB.

As a corporate site, the context of the CCCB website is to provide information directly pertaining to the members, activities, Commissions, committees, offices and services of the CCCB.

Publications Service

The Publications Service of the CCCB has its own website located at the following address: (  The site offers information on CCCB publications and provides users with the option of purchasing the materials online. The CCCB Publications Service is responsible for the site’s content and management.


Only those organizations that work closely with the CCCB will be linked to the CCCB Website. These include, but are not restricted to, groups or organizations to which the CCCB has appointed a liaison Bishop or a Bishop ponens.

The CCCB reserves the right to review all website link requests, and to remove links at any time without prior notice or without giving reason.

The CCCB assumes no responsibility for the content of linked websites or opinions expressed on their pages.


With the exception of the website of the CCCB Publications Service, the CCCB will not create links to any sites that advertise or sell products or services, even those directly related to the Church in Canada. The CCCB website will not host any ads on its pages.


The administration of the CCCB Website is the responsibility of the webmaster, under the authority of the CCCB General Secretary and Director of Administration. His/her duties also include:

  • ensuring that all documents or information presented on the website are in conformity with copyright and intellectual property laws;
  • taking the necessary measures to protect the website against intrusions;
  • looking for new and innovative ways to improve the quality of the website and its services.

Information Collection and Use
The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. The use of this information – texts, illustrations, photos and other documents – is strictly prohibited without the written consent of the CCCB.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Cookies can enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

Log Files
The CCCB uses IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track the user’s movements on the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

If a user wishes to subscribe to the E-mail newsletter for the CCCB, we ask for contact information such as name and E-Mail address so that the CCCB can contact the user. All information that the user transmits to the CCCB through its website is protected. It is possible to unsubscribe from this service at any time.
