holy father francisOn Tuesday 2 April 2019, the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus vivit ("Christ Lives"), addressed to young people and the entire People of God, was published. The Holy Father explains that the document was prepared drawing inspiration from the "wealth of reflections and conversations of the Synod" (n. 4) on Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment held in October 2018. With the opening lines of the Exhortation, "Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world. The very first words, then, that I would like to say to every young Christian are these: Christ is alive and he wants you to be alive!" (n. 1), the Pope's reflection calls on youth to recognize and embrace God's love and their special role in the Church. "The Church needs your momentum, your intuitions, your faith... And when you arrive where we have not yet reached, have the patience to wait for us" (n. 299).

The Apostolic Exhortation is currently available online from the Holy See. CCCB Publications will have printed copies of the document available for sale in a few weeks with more information on how to pre-order a copy coming soon.
