Canonical recognition of Canadian Campus Catholic Ministry

smaller text tool iconmedium text tool iconlarger text tool icon

Following a formal request from Canadian Campus Catholic Ministry, and the subsequent agreement by the Permanent Council of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) that the association has fulfilled the necessary pastoral and canonical requirements, a Decree was issued by the CCCB which recognizes Campus Ministry as a national private association of the faithful. The origins of this association date to 1948.

Pastoral outreach on university and college campuses across the country is an important way to reach and support young Catholics.  At the same time, it involves them in serving the Gospel and other students. The official name in French of Canadian Campus Catholic Ministry is now Pastorale universitaire et collégiale catholique du Canada. More information about the association is available at www.cccm.ca.

The Decree is available on the CCCB website under "Official Texts":
