Diocese of Yarmouth joined with Archdiocese of Halifax

manciniThe Archdiocese of Halifax has announced that the Holy See has joined the Diocese of Yarmouth with the Archdiocese of Halifax to form one diocese. The official name will be the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. The new Archdiocese is being established this week, with diocesan ceremonies on December 7 at Saint Ambrose Cathedral in Yarmouth, and on December 8 at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica in Halifax

The Most Reverend Anthony Mancini, currently Archbishop of Halifax and Apostolic Administrator of Yarmouth, becomes the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.
