kateri_4According to the liturgical calendar for the Dioceses of Canada, the liturgical memorial of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha is April 17. The English-language edition of the Osservatore romano published an article by Father Thomas Rosica, C.S.B., CEO of Salt + Light Television, in its March 7, 2012, issue, on how Blessed Kateri’s faith and witness are a model for the New Evangelization. Blessed Kateri will be canonized on October 21, 2012, in Rome

Salt and Light TV is currently filming a one-hour documentary on Blessed Kateri that will premiere on the eve of her canonization this October. The documentary is being filmed on location in Fonda, New York, and in Kahnawake, Quebec, as well as in Ferndale, Washington, and other places in the United States.
