Pope Benedict XVI grants papal honours to Father Irénée Beaubien, S.J. and Dr. Victor Goldbloom, M.D.

Hommage_au_P._Beaubien_et_M._Goldbloom-2A celebration in honour of Father Irénée Beaubien, S.J. and Dr. Victor Goldbloom took place at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom in Montreal on October 4, 2012. Father Beaubien received the papal medal Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, and Dr. Goldbloom was made a Knight of the Order of Saint Sylvester. Among the many guests who attended were His Eminence Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte, Archbishop Emeritus of Montreal, the Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, and the Most Reverend Thomas Dowd, Auxiliary Bishop of Montreal. To mark this historic celebration, the Most Reverend Daniel Bohan, Archbishop of Regina and Chairman of the Commission for Christian Unity, Religious Relations with the Jews, and Interfaith Dialogue of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops sent a letter of congratulations to each recipient.
