Archbishop Richard Gagnon elected President of the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops

gagnon rGathered in Victoria for their plenary meeting, February 23-26, 2016, the Bishops of Western Canada, including the Northwest Territories and Yukon, elected the Most Reverend Richard Gagnon, Archbishop of Winnipeg, as President of the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops (AWCB). He succeeds as AWCB President the Most Reverend David Motiuk, Ukrainian Eparchial Bishop of Edmonton. The Most Reverend Paul Terrio, Bishop of Saint-Paul, succeeds the Most Reverend John Corriveau, O.F.M.Cap., Bishop of Nelson, as AWCB Vice President.
