Episcopal Ordinations of the new Auxiliary Bishops of Québec

Ordinations Mgr Pelchat et Mgr CorriveauThe episcopal ordinations of the Most Reverend Louis Corriveau and the Most Reverend Marc Pelchat, the two new Auxiliary Bishops of Québec, will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., at the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, in the Archdiocese of Québec. The celebration will be presided over by His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of Canada, along with the Most Reverend Gaétan Proulx, O.S.M., Bishop of Gaspé, and the Most Reverend Clément Fecteau, Bishop Emeritus of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, as co-consecrators. The Apostolic Nuncio, the Most Reverend Luigi Bonazzi, will be present, together with several other Bishops from across Canada. At the time of their appointment on October 25, 2016, Bishop-elect Corriveau was pastor of Saint-Bernardin-de-Sienne Parish in Rivière-à-Pierre (Quebec), while Bishop-elect Pelchat was Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Archdiocese of Québec. The celebration will be broadcasted live on the Catholic television channel ECDQ.TV of the Archdiocese of Québec, as well as on Salt + Light TV.
