AECQ-Rome 2017The members of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops (AQCB) are currently on their Ad limina visit, 2 to 12 May 2017. They are the last regional assembly of Bishops from Canada to make the visit to the Holy See. On the third day of their visit, the Quebec Bishops were received in a private audience by Pope Francis, during which they had the opportunity to present an overview of the life of the Church in their pastoral region. This meeting with the Holy Father also included the participation of various officials in the Roman Curia. The AQCB, of which The Most Reverend Paul Lortie, Bishop of Mont-Laurier, is President, issued a communiqué following the meeting with the Holy Father. The 2017 Ad Limina visits by the Bishops of Canada began with the Bishops from the Atlantic Episcopal Assembly, 13 to 18 March, followed by the Bishops from the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops, 27 March to 2 April, and by the Bishops from the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario, 24 to 29 April. Although traditionally scheduled every five years, the last Ad Limina visit for the Bishops of Canada took place in 2006.

The colours of the web site represent the official heraldic insignia of Bishops. The green corresponds to the galero (ecclesiastical hat) and six tassels on each side that make up the crest and supporters of the coat of arms of each Bishop while the gold represents the processional cross.
