New CCCB Associate General Secretary

(CCCB - Ottawa) – The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has named Mr. Benoît Bariteau as French-language Associate General Secretary.

A resident of Montreal, Mr. Bariteau has been Director of Human Resources and Communications for the Diocese of Joliette since 1996. Before then, he had worked in administration and chaplaincy services with the Marie-Victorin College (CEGEP) in Montreal, and also as a consultant with the Quebec Hospital Association. He holds master’s degrees in theology and business administration.

Mr. Bariteau will begin his new duties on September 17, 2001.  He replaces Mr. Gérald Baril who is retiring after working with the CCCB since 1993.
