Reverend Gaëtan Baillargeon Appointed Director of CCCB Office national de liturgie

Rev. Gaetan Baillargeon (CCCB – Ottawa) Reverend Gaëtan Baillargeon, a priest of the Archdiocese of Sherbrooke, has been appointed as director of the French Sector Office national de liturgie (ONL). Father Baillargeon will take office on August 1, 2002.

At the time of his appointment, Father Baillargeon was professor of dogmatic theology and director of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of the University of Québec at Trois-Rivières. He holds doctorates in the history of religions from the Sorbonne, as well as in theology from the Catholic Institute of Paris.

Father Baillargeon succeeds Reverend Paul Boily who has been director of the Office national de liturgie for the past 15 years.
