Death of Most Reverend Raymond Roy, Bishop emeritus of Saint Paul, Alberta

(CCCB-Ottawa)… Most Reverend Raymond Roy, Bishop emeritus of Saint Paul, Alberta, passed away, June 25, at 84 years of age.

Born at Fisher Branch in Manitoba, Bishop Roy was ordained at Saint-Boniface on May 31, 1947. He was named Bishop of Saint Paul on May 3, 1972. He retired on June 30, 1997.

His body will be exposed in the Chapel of Rest, at Saint Paul’s Cathedral (4625, 50th Avenue, Saint Paul) on Tuesday, July 1, 2003, starting at 2:00 p.m. An evening of prayer will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., at Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
