Archbishop Terrence Prendergast Named Pontifical Commissioner for the Sons of Mary

(CCCB - Ottawa) – The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has named Most Rev. Terrence Prendergast, S.J., Archbishop of Halifax and Apostolic Administrator of Yarmouth, as the Pontifical Commissioner for the Sons of Mary in Canada.

Archbishop Prendergast succeeds Bishop Gilles Cazabon, O.M.I., of Saint Jerome, Quebec, who has held this office since 1997. As Commissioner, Archbishop Prendergast will exercise authority over the Sons of Mary and its members.

In making this nomination, the Congregation continues to show its interest for the well being of the members of this pious association and the faithful associated with it.
