CCCB President Visits Armenia

(Ottawa – CCCB)…. Leaders from the Christian Churches in Canada, including Archbishop Brendan M. O’Brien, President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, have been invited by Karekin II, Catholicos and Supreme Patriarch of the Armenian Church to visit Armenia.

The Patriarch welcomed the visitors last Sunday, thanking them for their support, participation and prayers during the commemorative celebrations held in Canada to mark the 90th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

Most Reverend O’Brien was joined by Most Reverend Andrew Hutchison, Primate of the Anglican Church in Canada, His Eminence Sotirios Athanassoulas, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church in Canada, and Dr. Richard Schneider, President of the Canadian Council of Churches. The visit will last until 1 September.
