Canada must intervene "without delay" to save Din Ahmed from execution in Bangladesh

ebacher_ahmedArchbishop Roger Ébacher, President of the Human Rights Committee of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), asks the federal government to admit Mr. Mohuiddin (Din) Ahmed to Canada by means of a Temporary Residence Permit. Mr. Ahmed is in detention in the United States and faces expulsion to his country of origin, Bangladesh, where he will very likely be executed.  Mr. Ahmed has family in Canada.

"Canada must show its commitment to the protection of human rights and human life by issuing without delay a Temporary Residence Permit", asserted the Archbishop of Gatineau in a letter he sent to Ms. Diane Finlay, Canadian Minister of Citizenship and Immigration
