Letter to the Ambassador of Egypt from Archbishop Brendan M. O'Brien, Chairman of the CCCB Human Rights Committee, regarding the violent confrontation by Egyptian law enforcement agents against Coptic Christians

Archbishop Brendan M. O'Brien, Chairman of the CCCB Human Rights Committee, has written to the Ambassador of Egypt regarding the situation facing Christians in that country.  In his letter, Archbishop O’Brien expressed deep concern in view of the attack against Christian Copts in Cairo at the beginning of this week. “We request that your government undertake all necessary measures to ensure that Christians in Egypt are able to enjoy complete freedom of religion and to live in peace, that their security be respected, and that all forms of discrimination against them be ended,” he wrote.
