The Social Affairs Office of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops is part of a coalition called the Halifax Initiative that calls on the Members of Parliament to vote YES to a private member’s motion on the role Canada will play in controlling currency speculation.

A vote will take place in the House of commons on March 23, 1999.
