Dear Prime Minister:

On behalf of all members of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, I wish to congratulate you on your election as leader of the new Government of Canada.

We are aware of the heavy responsibilities you have as Prime Minister, but we are also confident that the mandate given to you will be well served.

We are pleased with the attention you have given to date to matters dealing with respect to life and human dignity. As pastors, we are particularly concerned with making positive contributions toward a better world where there is peace, justice and equality, we thank your government in advance for the efforts it will make in this regard.

In asking the Lord to bless you and give you strength in performing your duties, we assure you of our fraternal prayers.

Please accept, Mr. Prime Minister, my respectful and devoted regards.

The colours of the web site represent the official heraldic insignia of Bishops. The green corresponds to the galero (ecclesiastical hat) and six tassels on each side that make up the crest and supporters of the coat of arms of each Bishop while the gold represents the processional cross.
