His Excellency Mian Gul Akbar Zeb
High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada
High Commission for Pakistan
10 Range Road
Ottawa, ON  K1N 8J3

Your Excellency:

Please find enclosed a copy of a letter that the Most Reverend Pierre Morissette, President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, sent at the end of last week to the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, concerning the tragic assassination of Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti, your country’s late Minister for Minorities.

The Catholic Bishops of Canada are most concerned about what appears to be the targeting of Catholics and other Christians in your country. These forms of intolerance preoccupy not only the 13 million other Catholics in our country, but most citizens of our country.

Your Excellency, any assistance that you can provide in conveying these concerns to your government would be greatly appreciated. With every good and prayerful wish, I remain,

Sincerely yours in the One God,

powers

(Rev.) Msgr. Patrick Powers, P.H.
