pope__francisAs had been indicated last week, Pope Francis has now given his support and blessing to the Caritas Internationalis campaign on world hunger. His video message was released at the beginning of the global campaign, December 10, 2013, by CTV, the Vatican television service. Last week, on December 5, the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CCODP) announced it will join Caritas Internationalis in its special focus on world hunger. The global campaign is being launched today with a worldwide “wave of prayer”, marking International Human Rights Day. The theme of the Caritas Internationalis campaign is “One human family, food for all”. This will also be the theme for the 2014 Share Lent campaign being organized by Development and Peace.
