Pope Francis warns those in consecrated life against ‘theoretical poverty’

Vatican Radio has announced that Pope Francis has sent a message to the participants of a Vatican Symposium on "The management of the ecclesiastical goods of Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, for the service of humanity and for the mission of the Church". The two-day event, which was organized at the request of the Holy Father, took place in Rome March 8 and 9, 2014. This event brought together the treasurers and business administrators of over 500 religious institutes and societies of apostolic life from around the world.
