Initial UN conclusions positive following Holy See’s report on the Convention against Torture

The Vatican Information Service issued a communiqué May 23, 2014, following the publication of an advance unedited version by the United Nations "Committee for the Convention Against Torture (CAT) of its "Concluding Observations on the Initial Report of the Holy See". The Observations recognize that the Holy See has made "many serious and substantial reforms on its procedures [on sexual abuse] that further advance the principles and objectives of the CAT."
