Apology by Pope Francis to all the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas for abuses suffered (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, 9 July 2015)

During his 2015 Apostolic Visit to Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay, Pope Francis gave the following major address to the Second World Meeting of Popular Movements which was held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, 9 July 2015. The address conveys the Pope's regret for what he calls the "many grave sins ... committed against the native peoples of America in the name of God", as well as his appeal for "land, labour and lodging" for all those who are socially and economically excluded in Latin America and throughout the world.
