Decree of Promulgation of the Ordinances for the implementation in Canada of Ex Corde Ecclesiae

The Bishops of Canada, at the 2003 Plenary Assembly of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, approved the Ordinances for the implementation in Canada of the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae, according to the norm of law.

The Ordinances received recognitio from the Congregation for Bishops, in accord with Article 82 of the Apostolic Constitution Pastor Bonus, issued by Decree of the Congregation for Bishops signed by His Eminence Giovanni Battista Cardinal Re, Prefect, and His Excellency Most Reverend Giovanni Maria Rossi, Sub-Secretary, dated 18 August 2004, with the nihil obstat for the French-language version confirmed on 11 December 2004.

As President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, I hereby decree that the Canadian Ordinances for the implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae will be in force as particular law for Canada on 1 May 2006.
