The following document is an agreed statement issued in June 2004 by the Roman Catholic/United Church Dialogue of Canada. Although the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is represented on the Dialogue, the text has not been endorsed by the CCCB nor does it necessarily have the approval of the Bishops of Canada. The statement is being disseminated in full in its official version on the CCCB website in order to assist Catholic pastors, theologians and other members of the faithful in studying it and in preparing reflections or comments, which can be forwarded to the CCCB Episcopal Commission for Christian Unity.
