Meeting of the Bishops of the Church in America: the Year of the Priest and the Haitian crisis at the heart of discussions

(Ottawa – CCCB) Bishops from Canada, the United States and Latin America, gathered in Montreal, 8-11 February, for the 37th annual Meeting of the Bishops of the Church in America. In keeping with the Year of the Priest, the the theme of the assembly focused on the situations and challenges facing priests today. Also during the meeting, participants have reached an agreement concerning the coordination of Catholic humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
