2018 Meeting of the Bishops of the Church in America

Florida meeting America-3-webThe 41st meeting of the Bishops of the Church in America took place in Tampa, Florida, 26 February to 1 March 2018, bringing together members of the Executive Committees and other representatives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM). The Canadian delegation was led by the Most Reverend Lionel Gendron, P.S.S., Bishop of Saint-Jean-Longueuil and President of the CCCB. He was accompanied by the Most Reverend Luc Cyr, Archbishop of Sherbrooke and Co-Treasurer of the CCCB, together with CCCB General Secretary Msgr. Frank Leo, Jr., and Mr. Kyle Ferguson, CCCB Advisor for Ecclesial and Interfaith Relations. The gathering provides an opportunity every two years for the three major organizations of Catholic Bishops in the American continent to discuss and reflect on current ecclesial, ethical and social questions. The meeting this year was organized by the USCCB.
