National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples

The National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually on 12 December, the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron of the Americas, who in 1531 appeared in Mexico to Saint Juan Diego.  Each year, the Canadian Catholic Aboriginal Council marks this day of prayer, solidarity, and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples by issuing a public message.
