The 2012 Restorative Justice Week will be celebrated November 18 to 25, 2012, on the theme “Diverse Needs; Unique Responses”. Various activities will be held across the country, including the National Restorative Justice Symposium, November 18 to 20, in Winnipeg. Its keynote speaker will be Mr. Justice Murray Sinclair, Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The Church Council on Justice and Corrections (CCJC) has prepared possible materials and activities to help local communities wishing to mark this week in a special way. The Most Reverend Gary Gordon, Bishop of Whitehorse, serves as the liaison for the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops with the five Catholic regional representatives whom the CCCB appoints on the Interfaith Committee on Chaplaincy of the Correctional Services of Canada.
