Appointment of Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, O.S.B.M., as Member of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue

Yesterday, 8 July 2020, it was announced that His Holiness Pope Francis appointed the Most Reverend Lawrence Huculak, O.B.S.M., Metropolitan Archbishop of Winnipeg for Ukrainian Catholics in Canada, as a member of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue.

As part of the Roman Curia, the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue has three primary responsibilities: to promote mutual understanding, respect and collaboration between Catholics and the followers of others religious traditions; to encourage the study of religions; and to promote the formation of persons dedicated to dialogue.
