Archbishop Durocher appointed to the Synod’s Commission for the concluding pastoral message
Thursday, October 9, 2014The Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau and President of the Canadian Conference Catholic Bishops (CCCB), has been appointed to the Commission that will prepare the pastoral message which will be issued at end of the III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. It has been the practice for a brief pastoral message to be issued to the Church about the experience of the Synod as it concludes.
The President of the Commission is His Eminence Gianfranco Cardinal Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture. There are seven other members on the Commission for the pastoral message, including Archbishop Durocher.
Today, October 9, 2014, the CCCB President also participated in the daily press briefing of the Synod on the Family, together with His Eminence Francesco Cardinal Coccopalmerio, President of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts.
