Cardinal Lacroix receives honorary Doctorate from Saint Paul University, Ottawa

Doctorat St-Paul Cardinal Lacroix-2 WebHis Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of Canada, received an honorary doctorate, honoris causa, from Saint Paul University in Ottawa on November 4, 2016. The degree was conferred by the Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, S.J., Archbishop of Ottawa and Chancellor of the University, accompanied by its Rector, Dr. Chantal Beauvais. Archbishop Prendergast also represented the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops for the happy occasion. The honorary doctorate was given in the context of a weekend conference on the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, which was held November 4-5 at the University on the theme Being a Church of Mercy: How do we put mercy at the core of a Christian life? Cardinal Lacroix was one of the keynote speakers; the title of his address was “Mercy is Not a Matter for a Single Year”.
