CCCB appoints Father Terrence J. Fournier Director of English Sector National Liturgy Office
Tuesday, July 23, 2013The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is pleased to announce that, effective September 1, 2013, the Reverend Terrence J. Fournier will assume the position of Director of the National Liturgy Office. He will replace the Reverend William Burke who, after six and a half years with the CCCB, has been recalled to service in the Diocese of Antigonish.
Father Fournier is a priest of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie. Ordained in 1993, he carried out many duties in his diocese, most recently as Diocesan Coordinator of Liturgy, Diocesan Master of Ceremonies, contact person in the Vocations Office and Pastor of St. Stanislaus, St. Pius X and St. Christopher parishes. Father Terrence attended L’Institut Catholique de Paris (L’Institut Supérieur de Liturgie; Sacramental Theology with a specialization in Liturgical Studies) from 2001 to 2003. Since 2011, he has served as the Chairman of the Ontario Liturgical Conference.
On behalf of our President and the members of our Executive Committee, I wish to express our sincere thanks to the Most Reverend Jean-Louis Plouffe, Bishop of Sault Ste. Marie, for his great generosity in allowing Father Fournier to serve the Conference at this time. I welcome Father Terrence to the CCCB staff and wish him every possible happiness and success during his stay with us.
(Rev.) Msgr.
