CCCB President meets the President of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo

Durocher et Djomo NicolasThe Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, on September 24, 2014, welcomed to his diocesan offices the Most Reverend Nicolas Djomo Lola, Bishop of Tshumbe and President of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO). Accompanying Bishop Djomo Lola were the CENCO General Secretary, the CEO of the National Caritas of Congo, and representatives from the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace. The two Presidents discussed two projects of the Congolese Episcopal Conference: the establishment of a micro-credit bank to assist in the local development of their country, and the work by CENCO to encourage a national electoral process which respects the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Congo and promotes a better future for it.
