Final statement of the International Conference on Human Trafficking
Thursday, April 10, 2014The second International Conference on Human Trafficking, which took place at the Vatican April 9-10, 2014, ended with the visit of Pope Francis and his address to the participants. A joint statement was also released during a news conference presided by His Eminence Vincent Cardinal Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, who chaired the human trafficking conference. The Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), as well as Inspector André Gauthier of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), participated in the international conference. During his stay in Rome, Archbishop Durocher was interviewed by Vatican Radio on how the Church in Canada is engaged against human trafficking.
