Installation of the new Archbishop of Winnipeg

The installation of the Most Reverend Richard Gagnon as Archbishop of Winnipeg will take place in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Winnipeg, on January 3, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. When appointed Archbishop of Winnipeg by the Holy Father on October 28, 2013, Archbishop Gagnon was then Bishop of Victoria, B.C. The Most Reverend V. James Weisgerber has been responsible for the Archdiocese of Winnipeg for the past 13 years. He had offered his resignation to the Holy Father when reaching the age of 75, as required by the Code of Canon Law. The installation will be broadcast live on Salt + Light TV, beginning at 7:00 p.m. (Central Time), 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).
