poissonThe Most Reverend Raymond Poisson is being installed as Bishop of Joliette at the diocesan Cathedral, today, November 4, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. The Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, will preside at the celebration. The Most Reverend Luigi Bonazzi, Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, will likewise be participating along with over 30 other Bishops, including His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada. At the time of his appointment as Bishop of Joliette by Pope Francis on September 8, 2015, Bishop Poisson was then Auxiliary Bishop of Saint-Jérôme. He offered his resignation to the Holy Father on reaching the age of 75, as required by the Code of Canon Law. On October 25, a celebration of thanksgiving with more than 1,200 people was held in the Cathedral of Joliette, to mark Bishop Lussier’s episcopal ministry in the diocese.
