Canonization Mother TeresaOn September 4, 2016, the Canadian Catholic television channel Salt + Light TV will broadcast live from Saint Peter’s Square, Rome, the canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa Bojaxiu, founder of the Missionaries of Charity. Founded in 1950 in the Archdiocese of Calcutta, India, the congregation has today 765 houses in 138 countries, including some in Canada: Montreal, Québec, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and St. Paul (Alberta). This historic event can be watched live starting at 3:30 a.m. A few Canadian Bishops will participate in Rome at the canonization, including the Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, the Most Reverend Robert Harris, Bishop of Saint John, the Most Reverend Scott McCaig, C.C, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Canada, the Most Reverend Nicola De Angelis, Bishop Emeritus of Peterborough, and the Right Reverend Peter Novecosky, O.S.B., Abbot Ordinary Emeritus of St. Peter’s at Muenster.
