Ordination of new Auxiliary Bishop of Montreal
Monday, June 13, 2016The ordination of the Most Reverend Alain Faubert as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Montreal will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., in Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, Montreal. The Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, will preside as the principal ordaining Bishop, along with the Most Reverend Thomas Dowd, Auxiliary Bishop of Montreal, and the Most Reverend Jude Saint-Antoine, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Montreal, as co-consecrators. The Apostolic Nuncio, the Most Reverend Luigi Bonazzi, will be present, together with more than 30 other Bishops from Canada, including the Most Reverend Lionel Gendron, P.S.S., Bishop of Saint-Jean-Longueuil and Vice President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Most Reverend Paul Lortie, Bishop of Mont-Laurier and President of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops. At the time of his appointment on April 19, 2016, Bishop Faubert was Pastor of Saint-Germain Parish in Montreal. The celebration will be broadcast live on Salt + Light Television.
