Ordination of new Bishop of Bathurst

Jodoin_Daniel-2013-2The Most Reverend Daniel Jodoin was ordained Bishop of Bathurst April 25, 2013, in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst, New Brunswick. The Most Reverend Valéry Vienneau, Archbishop of Moncton and former Bishop of Bathurst, was the presiding celebrant. A number of other Bishops from across the country also assisted, including the Most Reverend Gérald C. Lacroix, Archbishop of Quebec City and Primate of Canada, who represented the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB). Archbishop Lacroix is an ex officio member of the CCCB Permanent Council.  The ordination was broadcast live on large screens in many parish churches of the diocese, as well as on the Shippagan campus of the University of Moncton and in the chapels of religious communities and home care facilities throughout the Acadian peninsula.
