Ordination of the new Auxiliary Bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall

The episcopal ordination of the Most Reverend Guy Desrochers, C.Ss.R., as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall will take place on Friday, 22 February 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Finnan’s Cathedral in Alexandria, Ontario. The Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, S.J., Bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall and Archbishop of Ottawa will preside as the principal ordaining Bishop. The Most Reverend Gerard Pettipas, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan, and His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of Canada, will be the co-consecrators. The Most Reverend Luigi Bonazzi, Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, will be present along with other Bishops from Canada. At the time of his appointment on 11 December 2018, Bishop-elect Desrochers was serving as Director of Vocations for the Redemptorists and involved in preaching retreats.
