Plenary Assembly of Pontifical Council for Culture discusses women’s cultures
Thursday, February 5, 2015The Pontifical Council for Culture will hold its Plenary Assembly in Rome February 4-7, 2015, on the theme “Women’s cultures: equality and difference”. The program includes four sessions, each animated by women who will lead the discussions on the following questions: Between equality and difference: the quest for an equilibrium; “Generativity” as a symbolic code; The female body: between culture and biology; and Women and religion: flight or new forms of participation in the life of the Church? Three Canadian Bishops are members of the Pontifical Council: His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada; His Eminence Marc Cardinal Ouellet, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America, who is also Archbishop Emeritus of Québec; and the Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
