Pope Francis to preside at Mass of Thanksgiving for the recent canonizations of Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the Incarnation
Wednesday, June 18, 2014Pope Francis will preside at a Mass of Thanksgiving for the recent canonizations of Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the Incarnation on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at 10:00 am (Rome time), in Saint Peter’s Basilica, Rome. His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada, has also announced that a pilgrimage is being organized in France and Italy, October 5-14, “In the steps of Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the Incarnation”.
The pilgrimage is in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Québec, the Séminaire de Québec and the Canadian Union of Ursulines. After visiting sites in Paris, Montigny sur Avre, Chartres, La Flèche, Solesmes and Tours, the pilgrims will travel to Rome and for the Mass of Thanksgiving on October 12. The pilgrimage will be accompanied by Cardinal Lacroix.
