Proposed parish materials, including video and audio resources, on physician assisted suicide and euthanasia
Wednesday, December 18, 2013The Christian Medical and Dental Society of Canada (CMDS Canada) is offering video and other materials on physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia. CMDS Canada has developed the materials to raise awareness among parishioners of the issues related to physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia, and to encourage opposition to the possible legalization of physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia.
The CMDS website contains a video, a PowerPoint presentation, a handout for parishioners, and sample letters to the Attorney General of Canada. CMDS Canada is an ecumenical association of 1500 Christian doctors and dentists throughout Canada. The materials are intended to be suitable for use in both Catholic and Evangelical church communities. The project is supported by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada for use in its member churches.
In addition, the Catholic Organization for Life and Family (COLF) has a number of resources on euthanasia and assisted suicide. Among them are audio recordings of its 2010 Seminar on Bioethics, “Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide: Pitfalls and Alternatives”. A listing of all COLF resources on those issues is available on its new Website.
