Texts and video archives from events marking the equivalent canonizations of Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the IncarnationMonday, December 1, 2014
Following his decree earlier this year which recognized Bishop François de Laval and Mother Marie of the Incarnation as Saints of the Universal Church, Pope Francis presided at the Mass of Thanksgiving on October 12, 2014, in Saint Peter’s Basilica, Rome. The text of his homily is available on the Holy See Website. In addition, the Archdiocese of Québec has extensive video archives of the pilgrimage made in France in the steps of Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the Incarnation, October 5 to 14, 2014, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Québec, the Séminaire de Québec and the Canadian Union of Ursulines. The pilgrims were accompanied by His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada. The video archives include the address of Cardinal Lacroix to the Holy Father at the end of the Mass of Thanksgiving on October 12, as well as two historical video presentations on Saint François de Laval and Saint Marie of the Incarnation (in French only).
