The Shrine of Kateri Tekakwitha in Kahnawake releases its program of celebrations marking her canonization

The Shrine of Kateri Tekakwitha, at Kahnawake, Quebec, is preparing to mark the canonization of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha with a two-day celebration in October 2012. A prayer vigil will be held during the evening of 20 October. On 21 October at 9:00 am there will be a re-broadcast of the Canonization Mass, followed by Mass at 10:30 am. After Mass there will be exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, ending with Benediction at 5:00 pm. The ceremonies will be primarily in English, with parts in French and Mohawk. Located on the south side of the Saint Lawrence River and about 20 km southwest of downtown Montreal, the Shrine is in Saint Francis Xavier Church in the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil.
