The funeral for the Most Reverend Pierre-André Fournier, Archbishop of Rimouski and President of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec, took place on January 18, 2015, in Rimouski. His Eminence Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec and Primate of the Church in Canada, presided. A number of other Bishops also concelebrated, including the Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops; the Most Reverend André Rivest, Bishop of Chicoutimi and Vice President of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec; and the Most Reverend Bertrand Blanchet, Archbishop Emeritus of Rimouski. The celebration was broadcast live on Internet by the television service of the Archdiocese of Québec.
